Locust Valley 9, Carey 6: Cody West's two-run single in the bottom of the fifth highlighted a six-run inning as Locust Valley won its season-opener in non-league. Kevin Placilla went 4-for-4 with two runs and Callum Ewen went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs. Winning pitcher Tom McNamara went 6 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and striking out four, to earn the win.
